Our mission is to work on novel ways to prevent and treat HIV infection.
The Columbia Research Unit aims to speed the development of an effective vaccine to prevent HIV and to set the standards of care for people living with HIV. It is through community engagement and clinical studies within the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center that we hope to accomplish those goals.
Our research collaborators include Project ACHIEVE of the New York Blood Center, the Harlem Prevention Center, and the Bronx Prevention Center. Together, we form the NIH-funded Columbia Partnership for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit.
